More than 300,000 people in our state were looking for a job last month. Many of the industries affected relying on the financial sector to get better.

"The recession started with the meltdown in the financial sector with the meltdown in construction activity, I would expect that those things would have to improve before the rest of the economy would improve," said Ayala.

While Forbes reports the Tri-Cities is where the jobs are this Spring, one regional economist says those jobs may be temporary.

"That's going to impact our numbers but a lot of that money doesn't stay in the community it goes when the workers go," said Dean Schau, Regional Economist.

Where the workers aren't finding much is on the West side.

"Snohomish county, Pierce county, King county," said Schau.

Schau says farm jobs were up last month but other areas are still hurting.

"If you want to pick asparagus, if you want to pick apples, if that's something that not your cup of tea, then check with places like Fluor, or Batelle, or Lamb Weston," said Schau.
